The Fifth Trust https://www.fifthtrust.co.uk/ is a charity that supports adults with learning difficulties. Based in the Elham Valley, near Canterbury, in Kent, we are looking for new Trustees to join our Board.
Our Trustees play a pivotal role in setting the strategic direction of our organisation and in supporting and monitoring the management of the Trust, ensuring we deliver the best for our students every day. We are looking for Trustees who are passionate about our vision to provide a safe and fulfilling way of life for our students, helping each individual to achieve their full potential. Ideally you will have experience in one of the following areas:
Annually we usually have four two-hour Board meetings and one ‘away day’ to formally consider/review our strategy. There are also opportunities to work within smaller groups on areas of development. If you are an experienced Board member that is great, but if this is your first Trustee role, don’t worry, we will ensure you receive support to enable you to become an effective Board member. Ultimately, we want our Trustees to enjoy working with us to improve our services and support our students and staff. This rewarding and stimulating role is voluntary, but travel and subsistence expenses will be paid.
To apply, please send a cover letter, and a brief CV to the Chairperson of the Board, Suzanne O’Brien . You may also post your information to Suzanne at The Fifth Trust, Elham Valley Vineyard, Elham Valley Road, Breach, Barham, Canterbury, CT4 6LN.
If you would like to have an informal and confidential discussion, please contact Nikki Marley, CEO The Fifth Trust, 01227 831851.

At the moment we have five volunteers who work either a morning, afternoon or all day in their chosen area of the horticulture department.
If you are interested and would like to find out more about volunteering please contact Peter Buscall horticulture manager 01227 831052 or email via the box on this website.
